The concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were assessed at four sites in Khour-e-Mousa (Mah-Shahr), Iran. Sea water, sediment and fish (cynoglossus bilineatus) samples were taken at each site and were analysed for PCB levels. To investigate the possible source of PCBs found in fish samples, sediments and waters were collected from four sites (D1, D2, D3, and D4) and studied. The relationship between PCB concentrations in sediment, water and fish is discussed. The results indicate that PCBs are detected in all fish samples and its concentration range from 3.2 to 102.7 μg kg?1 dry weight and 5.4–149.7 μg kg?1 dry weight in cold and warm seasons, respectively. The D2 and D4 sites were found to have the highest and lowest levels of PCB concentrations, respectively. Total congener PCB (CB, 28, 52, 44, 101, 149, 118, 153, 138, and 180) concentrations at the sediment samples for D1, D2, D3, and D4 sites ranged from 1.6 to 30.9 μg kg?1 dry weight and 2.3–47.1 μg kg?1 dry weight in cold and warm seasons, respectively. The total PCB concentrations for D2 site were found to be significantly higher than other three sites. Total water congener PCB (CB, 28, 52, 44, 101, 149, 118, 153, 138, and 180) concentrations ranged from 0.01 to 0.25 μg L?1 and 0.02–0.39 μg L?1 in cold and warm seasons, respectively.  相似文献

Cytotoxicity of a diverse set of 227 ionic liquids (taken from UFT/Merck Ionic Liquids Biological Effects Database) containing 94 imidazolium, 53 pyridinium, 23 pyrrolidinium, 22 ammonium, 15 piperidinium, 10 morpholinium, 5 phosphanium, and 5 quinolinium cations in combination with 25 different types of anions to Leukemia Rat Cell Line (IPC-81) was estimated from their structural parameters using quantitative structure - toxicity relationship “QSTR” methodology. Linear and nonlinear models were developed using genetic algorithm (GA), multiple linear regressions (MLR) and multilayer perceptron neural network (MLP NN) approaches. Robustness and reliability of the constructed models were evaluated through internal and external validation methods. Furthermore, chemical applicability domain was determined via leverage approach. In this work, it was revealed that the cationic moieties make the major contribution to cytotoxicity and the anionic parts play a secondary role in cytotoxicity of the ionic liquids studied here. Structural information represented in this work, can be used for a rational design of safer ILs.  相似文献

We herein used Fe3O4 nanoparticles(NPs) as an adsorption interface for the concurrent removal of gaseous benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and m-xylene(BTEX) and sulfur dioxide(SO2), at different relative humidities(RH). X-ray diffraction, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller, and transmission electron microscopy were deployed for nanoparticle surface characterization.Mono-dispersed Fe3O4(Fe2O3·Fe O) NPs synthesized with oleic acid(OA) as surfactant, and uncoated poly-dispersed Fe3O4 NPs demonstrated comparable removal efficiencies.Adsorption experiments of BTEX on NPs were measured using gas chromatography equipped with flame ionization detection, which indicated high removal efficiencies(up to(95 ± 2)%) under dry conditions. The humidity effect and competitive adsorption were investigated using toluene as a model compound. It was observed that the removal efficiencies decreased as a function of the increase in RH, yet, under our experimental conditions, we observed(40 ± 4)% toluene removal at supersaturation for Fe3O4 NPs, and toluene removal of(83 ± 4)% to(59 ± 6)%, for OA-Fe3O4 NPs. In the presence of SO2, the toluene uptake was reduced under dry conditions to(89 ± 2)% and(75 ± 1)% for the uncoated and coated NPs, respectively, depicting competitive adsorption. At RH 100%,competitive adsorption reduced the removal efficiency to(27 ± 1)% for uncoated NPs whereas OA-Fe3O4 NPs exhibited moderate efficiency loss of(55 ± 2)% at supersaturation.Results point to heterogeneous water coverage on the NP surface. The magnetic property of magnetite facilitated the recovery of both types of NPs, without the loss in efficiency when recycled and reused.  相似文献
